Building Words on the Grid
Letafall asks you to form words by dragging your finger across adjacent letter tiles. Movement is allowed up, down, left, right, and diagonally, so the same grid can produce very different words depending on the path you trace. The longer the word, the more points it earns, which pushes you to look beyond short, obvious combinations and scan for longer chains that use more of the board.
Wildcards and the Next Queue
A special wildcard tile, marked with an underscore, can represent any letter you need to complete a word. It gives zero points, so using one is a trade-off: you gain flexibility but sacrifice scoring potential. The screen also shows Next letters, letting you anticipate which tiles will appear. Planning around that queue helps you set up longer words instead of reacting one tile at a time. [IMG_1]
New Game vs. Daily Puzzle
Two modes change how you approach the board. A New Game uses all letters of the alphabet, giving you a full set to work with. The Daily Puzzle uses half the tiles, meaning some letters may be missing. That limitation adds a layer of strategy because you must align the available tiles to create longer words rather than relying on the complete alphabet. [IMG_2]
Ending a Round and Getting Unstuck
The game continues until all tiles are gone or no more words can be formed. Clearing the entire board earns bonus points, so there is a reason to keep going even when the remaining letters look awkward. If you cannot find a word, a hint button offers a suggestion. The game is optimized for touch screens, so it works best on smartphones and tablets.
